Tequila, triple sec, ice, lime juice, and Kosher Salt – the 5 basic ingredients of one of the world’s absolute favorite cocktails. No city, however, knows how to enjoy or celebrate the margarita quite like Dallas; and the annual Dallas Margarita Meltdown is proof of that.

On Sunday May 28th, the Dallas West End will be transformed into one of the biggest parties of the year. Over 5,000 people from all over Dallas will gather in the West End with one mission – to find the best margarita in DFW. Attendees will get to sip on the finest, most exciting margaritas in the metroplex from 40 different restaurants, and will then vote for their favorite. You can count on trying some of the most unique spins on the margarita the world has ever known.  

 

History of Dallas Margarita Meltdown

The Dallas Margarita Meltdown was created in 2011 by Tony Fernandez and Nico Ponce. Their mission was to find the best margarita in DFW made with the highest quality ingredients from the finest restaurants and bars. 7 years later, the Dallas Margarita Meltdown has become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year!

So who will be crowned Home of the Best Margarita in DFW this year? Participants include the Dallas West End’s own RJ Mexican Cuisine, Gators, YO Ranch, Tutta’s Pizza, and Ellen’s Southern Kitchen, Spaghetti Warehouse, and The Palm as well as Iron Cactus, El Rincon Mexican Kitchen and Tequila, Shakertins, The Standard Pour, Lekka Cafe and Gifts on Henderson, Draft Media Sports Lounge, Cassidy’s Lounge, Truck Yard, Frankie’s Sports Bar, On The Border, Cafe Herrera, Yucatan Taco Stand, Savor Gastropub, Taboo Lounge and more being added.

Pre-sale tickets are $40 and include a sampling card which will allow you to sample, taste, and vote for your favorite margarita. DJ Regs will be mixing your favorite top 40 favorites throughout the evening and food will be provided by RJ Mexican Restaurant, Spaghetti Warehouse, Smokin S BBQ, Raspa Patron, JBW Vending, Flava Pickles, Saltillos Tacos, Pickles and more to give you something to munch on while you drink! Tasting will take place between 4 pm – 7 pm but the party won’t stop until 9 pm!

 

Need a Ride?

There are multiple ways to get to and from Dallas Margarita Meltdown. For free short trip shuttle service in Downtown, Uptown, and Deep Ellum, call E Frogs at 469-432-4055. You can also hope on the McKinney Avenue Trolley, which makes stops all around Dallas – including the Dallas West End! Of course, ensure you have a safe ride home after all the fun with a designated driver.
