Downtown Dallas is expanding every single day and the good news is that we are getting a luxury Westin Hotel!  The best part is the architects and owners are repurposing, utilizing and creating something new with the existing structure. The owners are calling it a complete “makeover of a Main Street skyscraper”.

For quite some time the famous Dallas One Main Place (Its the original office towers used in the television series Dallas for JR Ewing’s office exteriors) has sat in limbo.

West End staple, restauranteur and Chef Tony Street of Y.O. Steakhouse showed off his mad cooking skills last week on WFAA’s News 8 Daybreak, with his famous Chicken-fried lobster. Tony has been frying in kitchens for most of his life, and learned his early culinary prowess from his Uncle Gene (yes…THAT Gene Street) earning him not only street cred as one of the best in town – but sealing his fate to be King of the Fry.

Downtown is the place to be this weekend! Just around the corner from the West End, our Downtown friends will be hosting the popular Dallas Children’s Health℠ Holiday Parade. This special parade is in its 27th year, and always excites the crowd with a special Dallas hometown feel.  The festivities happen Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. and is the official Downtown kick off to the holiday season.
