On the anniversary of the liberation of camp Auschwitz-Birkenau (and the date marked as the end of the Holocaust by the United Nations), January 27th is the designated day for International Holocaust Remembrance. On this day of commemoration, the United Nations urges every state member to honor the victims of the Holocaust and Nazi era, and to develop and further educate those with preventive programs.
